Viola has become one of the three laureates of the 2026 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program!
Viola received the award for her project focused on developing a tool for the earlier detection of endometriosis.
Endometriosis is a chronic disease that, according to the World Health Organization, affects approximately ten percent of women of reproductive age. Viola's project utilizes her expertise in microfluidics and the development of bio-inspired surfaces.
The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program has been operating in the Czech Republic for 20 years, supporting female scientists in the advancement of their research and professional careers. This year, three laureates (Viola Tokárová, Xiaohui Ju, and Tereza Jeřábková) were awarded, each receiving financial support of 200,000 CZK.
